AN AUSSIE man took a last-minute chance on the lottery and ended up walking away the £10million jackpot, but his wins just kept on coming.
Tired from work, the Brisbane father almost ignored the call from the Powerball lotto chiefs last Thursday and went to bed.
"I thought it was someone from work calling me with a problem," he told the officials.
The unnamed man had been regularly hedging his bets on the £10million Powerball because "it was a nice number," 7News reports.
"I tend not to play Powerball every week, but as soon as the jackpot is over $20 million I'll get an entry," he said.
"I've just always thought $20 million was a nice number, and now I know it is a very nice number.

"The best win I've ever had is $100, and I was pretty chuffed with that. This is something else."
On the eve of his mega-win, the lucky punter was running out of time to purchase a ticket.
He decided to break with his usual tradition and enter the draw online only hours before it closed.
"I didn't get the chance today as I left it quite late. It was after 5pm, and I almost didn't grab a ticket at all. I'm glad I did," he explained.

Soon the mystery man was told he had not only scooped the jackpot, but secured wins across other categories too.
He told the lottery officials: "I was literally walking into the bedroom to go to bed when you called.
"I've always wanted a call like this."
The fortunate man was the only entry to scoop the huge division one prize, along with some serious wins across the other divisions.
He secured wins in division two 19 times, division three seven times and division four 133 times, adding another £260k to his windfall.
After becoming an overnight multi-millionaire, he's now planning how to spend his new fortune.
"I'd like to retire earlier than planned, and I'd like to set the kids up with a house,' he said.
"I still can't believe it – I don't think I'll even believe it's real when it's in my bank account.
"I just want to wake up in the morning and make sure it's not a dream."
Speaking of dreaming, an Aussie woman won a massive jackpot in the lottery using numbers that appeared to her while she slept.
