I’m an OnlyFans star – but I am making a big career change despite people loving my sexy snaps | The Sun

AN ONLYFANS star is making a surprising career change – despite fans loving her racy snaps.

The model scored a mind-blowing victory in an Ecuadorian local election after financing her political campaign by selling sexy photos.

María Fernanda Vargas is the new mayor of Ecuador's Simón Bolívar canton, in the Ecuadorian province of Guayas.

She is the first of her kind to win a mayoral race after using her OnlyFans income to propel her campaign.

The 32-year-old, also known as "Mafer", owns a popular beauty salon and has a Journalism degree from the State University of Milagro.

Although she was a very successful OnlyFans model, it still remains unknown how much of the new mayor's success is due to her reputation on the adult platform.

María was originally mocked by her opponents who claimed a former adult entertainer couldn't be taken seriously in such an esteemed role in society.

But "Mafer" had the final laugh when she collected half of the possible votes.

María shut down her thriving OnlyFans account in 2022 when she began her mayoral campaign.

According to local reports, she had only used the platform to fund her political ambitions.

She told how she wanted to provide a comfortable life to herself and her daughters as well as pay her team of ten.

And her plan paid off in the end because on Sunday, María was given the title of mayor.

She took to social media to share the news of her success, writing: "Thank God and all the people of Simón who are are a part of this historic process for Simón Bolívar.

"Today the farmers, the workers, the boys and girls, the youth, the entrepreneurs won , the older adults. The people won, all of Simón Bolívar won".

The leader of the Citizen Revolution Movement in Ecuador, Rafeal Correa, also defended the former OnlyFans star against those who criticised her.

“Go, see the profile of that girl, a social communicator, a law student, who runs a foundation to help fight violence against women," he wrote on social media.

María originally made headlines in 2013 when she was attacked by three women armed with bottles.

Her story of courage and bravery captured the hearts of many across Ecuador and she used this attention to speak about violence in the national media.

She then set up her own foundation, Una Mano Amiga, which is dedicated to helping female victims of violence.
