PEOPLE were horrified after a customer spotted five rats crawling into a bin outside McDonald's – but others don't see a problem.
A photograph shared on Facebook shows five rats climbing up a bin outside the fast food chain in Hull.
The customer who captured the photograph claimed that a member of staff came and changed the rat-infested bin on Holderness Road without wearing any PPE.
Sharing it online, she said: "After seeing this, I will NOT be using McDonald's on Holderness Road."
Speaking to Hull Live, the customer said: "I am aware that where there are fast food places and where there is food waste, there will be vermin, but this is something else."
But bizarrely, some many people have come out in defence of the restaurant, arguing that "rats need to eat too".

One commented: "Rats going to an outdoor bin? Who'd have thought. What's that got to do with the inside kitchen?"
Another said: "Where else are they supposed to live? As long as they aren’t in the kitchen I don’t have a problem with it!"
This is not the first time vermin problems have plagued McDonald's restaurants – in January one woman filmed a rat scurrying across a table in Tilbury.
But this time, some people did not see the problem as the rats were not inside the restaurant.

One pointed out that McDonald's couldn't be expected to watch over outside bins all day, saying: "They can’t control outside, people are going on like they’re in the kitchen nibbling on someone’s chicken nuggets."
One man joked: "I've had the McRat zinger with fries… definitely recommend!"
Previously, a McDonald's spokesperson said: "We take cleanliness and hygiene very seriously. Pest control experts recently carried out a routine inspection of the site and confirmed there has been no evidence of pest-related activity in the restaurant.
"We are working with the landlords to proactively manage any potential challenges arising from the nearby railway area. The restaurant itself has not been impacted."
