Terms of Endearment: Hollywood recluse Jack Nicholson, 85, exchanges warm words and hug with LeBron James during rare outing to see Lakers with lookalike son Ray
- Jack Nicholson, 85, was spotted for the second time in 18 months at an LA Lakers game on Friday evening
- The recluse actor was seen hugging and chatting with LeBron James and Larry David before the game
- Two weeks ago, the actor was seen looking disheveled on his balcony in Beverly Hills after reports his friends were worried he’d die alone
One of Hollywood’s most reclusive actors, Jack Nicholson, came out from his hiding spot for the second time in 18 months to enjoy an LA Lakers game and exchange warm words and a hug with LeBron James.
It was his second sighting in the last months, after he was spotted two weeks ago, hanging out on the balcony of his infamous Mullholland Drive compound in Beverly Hills.
The 85-year-old Oscar-winner looked too cool for school as he wore a pair of black shades indoors, along with a black blazer and button-down shirt. He spruced up the outfit with a pair of red pants.
Before the game – where the Lakers easily defeated the Grizzles to advance – superstar LeBron James came over to hug the actor – and the pair appeared to have a brief conversation. The conversation was in audible but the two icons seemed jovial.
Seinfeld co-creator Larry David was also seen walking over to Nicholson for a brief handshake before heading back to his seat.

Also in attendance was powerhouse vocalist Adele, but it is unknown if she and Nicholson spoke.
Nicholson was a fixture in the last half-century of Lakers history, cheering on the team through several eras of success after getting his season tickets in 1970.
He was the most prominent face in the Lakers’ gallery of celebrity fans, his sunglasses and famous grin ever-present at courtside — and occasionally on the court if he was particularly displeased by an official’s call.
Nicholson cheered while the Showtime Lakers racked up championships and captured Hollywood’s imagination, and he remained an avid fan while they won five more titles in the Kobe Bryant era.
He famously adjusted his shooting schedules and personal meetings to keep himself free to catch every big Lakers game.
Nicholson rarely attended games after fans returned to the Lakers’ building following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the chance to watch the Lakers attempt to win a playoff series at home for the first time since 2013 was irresistible to their No. 1 fan.
The put-together appearance came just weeks after the Shining star was seen looking disheveled on his balcony. His rough appearance came after multiple reports suggested the star’s pals were concerned he would die alone, in a similar manner to his former next-door neighbor and fellow screen legend Marlon Brando.
Nicholson is arguably La La Land’s most famous bachelor. He was married for four years prior to making it in Hollywood. His most famous romance with Angelica Houston ended nearly 25 years ago.
‘He’s made it clear his home is his castle. But people just wish he’d come out of the house and pop up to tell them how — or at least reassure folks he’s OK,’ an unnamed friend told Radar Online in January.
‘Jack’s in touch with certain relatives — especially Ray, his protégé, who he’s so proud of — but his socializing days are long gone,’ they added.
Comedian, Larry David, was also seen walking over to Nicholson for a brief handshake before heading back to his seat

He was last seen in October 2021 alongside his doppelganger son, Ray, sitting courtside watching his beloved LA Lakers. Ray, 31, is one of the few people that Nicholson keeps in contact with, according to reports.
His last on-screen appearance came in 2010’s little-known How Do You Know, starring alongside Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.
The New Jersey native has dodged rumors for years that he’s retired from acting as he is battling dementia and is unable to remember his lines.
In January, his unnamed friend told Radar that while Nicholson was in good shape physically, ‘his mind is gone.’
Shortly after those reports emerged, former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said during an episode of his No Spin News broadcast that reports that Nicholson’s mental health had diminished were ‘bull.’

‘I visited Jack Nicholson a few months ago. I had a long conversation with him and he follows the No Spin News very closely and had all kinds of intelligent questions for me,’ O’Reilly said.
‘I have been friends with him for decades. He is 85, okay? But he is more intellectually nimble than the president of the United States,’ the former Inside Edition host continued.’
Despite his confirmed bachelor status, Nicholson has fathered six children by five different women.
Nicholson has been criticized for never acknowledging his paternity of his alleged daughter Tessa Gourin, who was born out of his brief affair with waitress Jeanine Gourin.
