Just Stop Oil is plotting a massive series of protests involving thousands of activists from across the UK to paralyse London with slow-march blockades this autumn, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.
Protesters from the radical eco-group are planning to descend on the capital and bring city streets to a standstill for three weeks from October 29.
The group claims that police and courts will be ‘overwhelmed’ if more than 3,000 Just Stop Oil supporters are arrested for blocking roads during the demonstrations.
Just Stop Oil’s latest plot follows 13 weeks of relentless slow-march protests and high-profile disruptions throughout June and July.
Videos on social media show demonstrators clashing with frustrated drivers trying to get to work or take their children to school.

Sir Robert Goodwill, chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee, said: ‘It is completely counterproductive for Just Stop Oil to immobilise London with more slow-marches. These protests only anger ordinary, hard-working people trying to go about their daily lives.
‘If Just Stop Oil really wants to save the environment then they should protest outside the Chinese embassy. China is the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide. The UK, by comparison, has world-leading environmental policies.’
To prepare for its latest assault on the capital, Just Stop Oil is hosting ‘mass youth training’ on September 1 and 2.
Free vegan food and accommodation will be provided before trainees are invited to party at a ‘legendary rave’. Just Stop Oil is also planning to strike university campuses ‘with the biggest wave of student resistance ever’.
In June, police were granted new powers to more effectively tackle Just Stop Oil slow marches.
Last night, Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Matt Twist, said: ‘So far this summer Just Stop Oil protests have cost the Met more than £7.7 million and 23,597 officer shifts. But we will continue to quickly respond to their disruption.’
A spokesman for Just Stop Oil said: ‘We’re marching because 100 new oil and gas licences is an act of war against the young and those on the front line of climate collapse in this country and around the globe.
‘We’re marching because that’s what people have always done when their inalienable right to life and livelihood are violated.’
