A little girl has been rushed to hospital after her face was mauled in a horror dog attack – as the animal is destroyed and police launch a probe.
The young girl from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was left in need of surgery to her face following the vicious attack.
She endured injuries to her cheek in the attack in the Tryan Road area of the West Midlands town.
Police officers have confirmed that they are investigating the mauling, which took place inside a property on Thursday, April 6.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Police have confirmed the dog in question was seized and has since been destroyed.

A post on the Nuneaton and Bedworth Police Facebook page read: ‘We’re investigating an incident in which a child was bitten by a dog in the Camp Hill area of Nuneaton on Thursday evening 6 April),
‘The incident took place inside a property. The child sustained facial injuries, which required hospital treatment.’
They added: ‘The dog has been seized and destroyed. Enquiries are ongoing.’
