LUCY Letby has denied killing a baby boy to get the attention of a doctor she "had a crush on".
The nurse, 33, is alleged to have murdered Child O – a newborn triplet – on the day she went back to work after an Ibiza trip with pals.
Letby returned to the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital on the morning of June 23, 2016.
By 1.15pm that day, she called for a doctor's assistance when the tot started vomiting following a milk feed 45 minutes earlier.
Manchester Crown Court heard Letby had texted the same doctor a few hours earlier, expressing it was "rubbish" he couldn't stay on the same ward as her.
Nick Johnson KC, prosecuting, yesterday probed the murder-accused nurse on her relationship with the man in question, who cannot be named.

Letby replied: "No, this was my first day back at work."
Mr Johnson continued: "Did you want to get his attention?"
Letby responded: "No."
Mr Johnson asked: "Is that the reason you sabotaged [Child O]?"
"No," Letby repeated.
Medical entries showed Letby signed for the feed of Child O in the afternoon.
But it was actually carried out by a student nurse she was mentoring.
Mr Johnson added: "You deliberately overfed [Child O], didn't you?"
Letby replied: "No I didn't. I was not feeding this baby."
The prosecutor asked her: "Were you trying to get [the doctor's] attention?"
Letby said: "Yes, I wanted him to be with [Child O]."
Mr Johnson said: "Personal attention as well?"
Letby replied: "No, he was the registrar on the unit that day."
