TRAFFIC is at a standstill on the M1 after a tanker exploded into flames – with drivers now facing severe delays.
The tanker caught fire between Junctions 28 and 29 in north Derbyshire at 10.55am.
Now traffic is stationary in both directions between the directions, after it was closed by National Highways.

Locals have been told to close their doors and windows while the fire is put out.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We currently have four fire engines, two water carriers and a foam unit dealing with a vehicle fire on the M1 southbound between J29 and J28.
