A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 20s disappeared from East London on Sunday.
Metropolitan Police said a 45-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday as part of an investigation into her whereabouts.
He remains in custody at an East London police station.
The force said the man and woman, who went missing from an address in Orchard Place, Tower Hamlets, were known to each other.
Police are still searching for the woman, but they believe she has come to harm.
Cops have informed her next of kin and they are being supported while the Met Police probe her disappearance.
