A shocking TikTok video captured the moment a man escaped his SUV before it was swept away by a mudslide in the central Venezuela state of Aragua.
The footage showed the motorist sitting in his vehicle as the maddening flood water rushed down a street after a dam had overflowed in El Castaño, Maracay, on Monday.
The car suddenly started to slide away when the man opened the door in an attempt to hop out of the vehicle.

Fortunately, the SUV collided with a pole, thus providing the man sufficient time to escape and reach the sidewalk.
Two seconds barely passed when the SUV was turned sideways and carried away by the flood.
The downpour caused a flood that carried rocks, trees, and mud down the main road in El Castaño.

At least four residents, including 26-year-old social media influencer Rosana Cano, were killed, according to Venezuelan news portal Caraota Digital.
Cano was traveling in a car with her driver and another person before it was swept by the flash flood.
It’s unknown if the driver and the other individual, whose names have not been released died or survived.
The fourth victim, Fredymar Nieves, 54, was found lying under rubble Thursday.
At least 50 families were impacted, including one that was seen in a separate video walking up the roof of their home and into a helicopter.

The state of Aragua has been hit by heavy rains in recent weeks that have killed dozens and left hundreds homeless.
At least 54 residents were killed in the municipality of Las Tejerías on October 8 after a storm provoked mudslides that buried homes and businesses.
