A MAN was mauled by a vicious pit bull in a horror ten-minute ordeal, with cops now hunting the animal's owners.
Keith Richards, 44, was left needing hospital treatment after the pit bull attacked him while he was walking his border terrier in Wallsend, Tyneside at 8.15pm on February 14.
He suffered bites on his right underarm, shoulder blade and collarbone during the ten-minute ordeal.
Keith, a local window-cleaner, is currently unable to work and faces the possibility of needing plastic surgery.
He told ChronicleLive: "I was walking my dog on Archer Street when I saw a lass holding on for dear life to a Pit Bull.
"It got out of her hands and had no muzzle on. I threw my dog onto the top of the car and then the Pit Bull went absolutely beserk and began ripping me to pieces.
