Marilyn Manson rape accuser says she LIED that singer attacked her during interviews on The View and with People magazine: Claims his ex Rachel Evan Wood pressured her into fabricating the claims
- Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, had a brief relationship with Marilyn Manson, 54
- She claimed Manson’s ex, Evan Rachel Wood ‘manipulated’ her into false claims
- In June 2021, she filed a lawsuit against Manson and in January it was dismissed
A woman who accused Marilyn Manson of rape on The View has now claimed she was lying – and that she was pressured into doing so by the rocker’s ex Rachel Evan Wood.
Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, who had a brief relationship with Manson back in 2010 told Page Six that she ‘succumbed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to make accusations of rape and assault against [Manson] that were not true.’
The model who is of Jewish-heritage previously accused Manson, 54, of raping her, cutting her with a swastika-emblazoned knife, and putting his fist in her mouth during sex.
She went on The View to detail the allegations, and even called Manson ‘a monster’ on the cover of People after filing the lawsuit in June 2021.
Last month, Smithline’s case against Manson was dismissed. And she’s now admitted lying, while claiming Evan Rachel Wood pressured her into doing so by suggesting she may have been so traumatized by a sex attack that she’d no longer be able to remember it.

Wood, 35, and Manson were together between 2006 and 2010 and briefly engaged. She is now in a relationship with a woman called Illma Gore and the pair are working on a documentary called Phoenix Rising.
Smithline said she was first contacted in 2020 by Gore or Ashley Walters, a former assistant.
She claims they would meet up and ask her about the alleged abuse asking and her response would be, ‘no this did not happen to me, and this was not my experience.’
But, Smithline claims Wood told her ‘just because she could not remember’ those things ‘did not necessarily mean that it did not happen.’
She also alleged that Wood told her that it was possible she had ‘repressed’ memories due to her alleged trauma.
Wood publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in February 2021, and according to Smithline she allegedly advised her, along with other accusers, to do the same.
But, Smithline realized shortly after sharing her testimony for Phoenix Rising that she was not acting in an ‘honorable’ way.
Manson’s attorney Howard King said that Smithline called him last week on her own and apologized to Manson. She also told him that she never had any financial motivation for allegedly ‘lying’ about Manson.
‘She was a reluctant participant [in Wood’s alleged scheme] from the get-go,’ the lawyer said, Page Six reported.
‘For a moment in time, having been questioned so many times by Evan Rachel Wood about this ‘repressed memory’ and being told, ‘You’re not remembering what happened,’ she believed it for a minute.’
Esme Bianco, a former girlfriend of Manson, had accused him of alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
Manson’s attorney pointed out that Smithline’s lawyer, Jay Ellwanger, was the same attorney representing Bianco in her sexual assault case.
Smithline claims that she felt ganged up on and manipulated by Woods, Bianco an and her own attorney and that was what prompted her to repeat the false rape claims because, he said, she felt ’emotionally manipulated.’
Manson’s ex also said that she ‘never received any money from Mr. Warner and not seeking any money from him.’
‘I have no intention of refiling any lawsuit against Mr. Warner,’ she said.
‘Looking back, I feel I was manipulated by Ms. Wood, Ms. Gore, Ms. Bianco and Mr. Ellwanger to spread publicly false accusations of abuse against Mr. Warner.’
He alleged that Ellwanger had written a complain without talking to Smithline about what the factual allegations were, and then filed it.
King said ‘They wore her down.’

Esme Bianco settled a federal lawsuit with Manson in which she alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse, attorneys for both sides. Bianco’s attorney was the same lawyer that had been representing Smithline
Manson’s, whose real name is Brian Warner, has been accused by more than a dozen women alleging sexual misconduct against him, but not all pursued legal action – and has never faced criminal charges.
Bianco was one of the women who sued Manson and his record label Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. She also sued the singer for human trafficking, among other charges, Rolling Stone reported.
The pair settled the sexual-assault lawsuit out of court earlier this year for an undisclosed amount.
King said Bianco was the only Manson accuser who got paid.
He said the suit was settled with the insurance company and said it was a ‘fraction’ of what she was asking for.
Manson is now suing Wood for conspiracy and Gore for defamation, as the musician alleges that the pair had conspired against him for their own financial gain.
