Matt Hancock is mocked for cringeworthy TikTok video miming along to Ryan Gosling’s epic ballad ‘I’m Just Ken’ from Barbie film as users say ‘I’ve had Kenough’

Matt Hancock has been mocked for a cringeworthy TikTok video in which he mimed along to Ryan Gosling’s epic ballad ‘I’m Just Ken’ from the Barbie film.

The former Health Secretary, who resigned in 2021 after breaking his own lockdown rules by having an affair with his aide Gina Coladangelo, posted the video on Sunday evening.

TikTok users ridiculed Hancock, 44, who posted the awkward video with the caption ‘I am Kenough’ – a reference from the hit film.

Ryan Gosling’s character Ken sang in the film about his unrequited feelings for Barbie, played by Margot Robbie. 

In the ballad, which landed on the Billboard 100 this week, Ken wonders whether it is his ‘destiny to live and die a life of blonde fragility’.

The cringeworthy video ensured more criticism for the beleaguered former minister who quite after breaking his own lockdown rules by having an affair with his aide 

Hancock, 44, was a far cry from Ryan Gosling, who played Ken in the hit film Barbie that was released earlier this year

Margot Robbie (pictured as Barbie) starred alongside Gosling in the hit show about dolls coming to life 

However, social media users made fun of Hancock’s toe-curling mime that saw the former minister strut down a beach in shorts and a white shirt as he gestured to the camera.

He even tensed his biceps and pretended to punch towards the camera as he mouthed: ‘What will it take for her to see the man behind the tan and fight for me?’

More than 7,000 comments have already been left on the video.

TikTok user Zara said: ‘I’ve had Kenough’. Another user called Jess said ‘he’s lost it,’ while TikTokker mocked Hancock, saying, ‘he’s so Alan,’ a reference to a weird and awkward character in the film.

Other users derided the politician. In a comment beneath another take of the video posted by Hancock’s daughter Hope, one user said: ‘To think this man worked for the government is a joke.’ 

Meanwhile, TikTok user Amba said the clip was ‘iconic but also deeply, terribly unsettling.’

One user commented ‘politics are a joke’, while another added ‘so have we all just forgiven this man for what he did?’

In a comment beneath another take of the video posted by Hancock’s daughter Hope, one user said: ‘To think this man worked for the government is a joke’

Hancock also made wild gestures in the other video, raising his arms towards the camera for the video

It’s not the first time Hancock has raised eyebrows with his decisions outside of Westminster.

The former Health Secretary was one of the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’s biggest stars after he quit his ministerial role.

Despite the controversy surrounding his signing, ratings soared with 8.5 million people tuning in to view the show at its peak.

Mr Hancock faced criticism for appearing on the show from members of the public who had lost loved ones during the Covid-19 pandemic.
