Megyn Kelly slammed a New York City hospital for placing a pregnant physician’s assistant on leave after she was falsely accused of stealing a black man’s Citibike.
‘My God, the s*** poured down on this pregnant woman just for trying to actually claim the bike she paid for is out of hand,’ Kelly exclaimed on her Tuesday broadcast.
The TV host showed the footage of last week’s viral incident and then criticized activists and social media users for smearing the white woman as ‘CitiBike Karen’ and for comparing her to Emmett Till’s accuser.
Sarah Comrie, a 36-year-old physician’s assistant at Bellevue hospital, has gone into hiding after she reportedly received ‘death threats’ following footage of her tussling with a man over a Citibike outside of Bellevue Hospital at the end of a shift last week.
The hospital has since released a statement revealing that Comrie has been placed on leave and will remain on leave pending further review. It’s unclear the status of that review.

A roughly 90-second video of the incident was posted on TikTok and Twitter and showed Comrie arguing with the man outside of Bellevue over the weekend.
‘We are aware of the video involving a health care provider off duty and away from the hospital campus. The incident in the video is disturbing,’ a spokesperson for NYC Health + Hospitals, the hospital system where Comrie works, told CBS News in the aftermath.
‘The provider is currently out on leave and will remain on leave pending a review. As a health system we are committed to providing an environment for our patients and staff that is free from discrimination of any kind.’
On her show Tuesday, Kelly scoffed at the statement.
‘What discrimination?’ Kelly asked. ‘They are accusing their own staffer of being racist in that encounter.’
She pointed out that the incident even prompted civil rights attorney Ben Crump to tweet and then delete that tweet about the ordeal after her lawyer threatened defamation lawsuits against those who defamed her.
Crump has not apologized for his tweet that read: ‘This is unacceptable!’
‘A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat. This is EXACTLY the type of behavior that has endangered so many Black men in the past!’

DailyMail.com revealed the nurse’s Citibike receipts – which her lawyer claims proves the number on the handlebars of bike she was clutching in the footage matches her document
The documents show that the ride was ultimately canceled, and she wasn’t charged, before booking another bike minutes after the incident
Comrie, who had on blue scrubs emblazoned with ‘NYC Health + Hospitals, could be seen in the video shouting ‘help’ and tearing up as a crowd gathered around them.
In the clip a friend of the man can be heard defending him, saying the woman – branded a ‘Karen’ after the video – was in fact trying to steal from him.
Kelly later in the segment admitted that Comrie’s behavior in the video was ‘a little odd,’ like in the way she calmly cries ‘help’ during the struggle.
‘But it’s not racist,’ she added. ‘This woman’s life has been ruined, she’s not back at her job, she’s expecting a baby, I’m sure she’s feeling emotional to begin with. We all know you get a little spicy when you have a baby growing inside you.’
Kelly also slammed the online warriors for their comparison of Comrie to Emmett Till’s accuser.
‘Instead of calling these women ‘Karens’ when they do this, we should call them ‘Carolyn’ or ‘Carolyns’ since the behavior they are emulating is that of Carolyn Bryant, the woman who got Emmett Till lynched,’ one tweet read.
Justin Marino, who is representing Comrie, says she was fearful she would lose her job over the incident – with the hospital putting her on administrative leave pending a review.
Marino said that he is ‘preparing lawsuits’, adding that there is ‘no question’ that outlets and individuals defamed the pregnant nurse.
Speaking to Fox News he said: ‘She’s received death threats. She’s in hiding.
‘What’s at play is what social media did to this woman who’s literally a hero, and has done nothing but help people and within one minute effectively tries to ruin her life.’
‘She’s been called a racist, she’s been called a thief… We plan to purse that.’
Justin Marino, who is representing Comrie, says she was fearful that she would lose her job over the incident – with the hospital putting her on administrative leave pending a review
His comments come after DailyMail.com obtained Comrie’s Citibike Receipt – which Marino claims proves the bike she was clutching in the footage was booked by her.
Marino said the documents show she booked the Citibike outside of Bellevue Hospital after finishing her 12-hour shift – because the number on the handlebars matched the receipt.
The first receipt shows the bike seen in the video was paid for and taken out before it was re-locked one minute later – identified by the number on the handle.
A second receipt he says is proof of a second bike being taken from the same docking station, which Comrie used to ride home.
Marino said his client was forced to get a second Citi Bike after being ‘heckled and pressured’ to do so – after initially taking the bike when ‘no individuals were on our touching’ it.
In a statement he said: ‘One or more individuals in that group physically pushed her bike (with her on it) back into the docking station, causing it to re-lock.
‘In blocking the QR code, this individual’s arm was touching my client’s pregnant stomach, a condition of which she had made them aware.
‘Throughout this time and for the remainder of the video, roughly five individuals were telling her to get off the bike and heckling her.
‘The fact anyone would treat another person like this is tragic, especially a visibly pregnant woman.’
Comrie could even be seen crying in the video as she hopped onto the disputed bike

Speaking to DailyMail.com last week about the incident, Marino said: ‘The receipts show unequivocally that she got the bike first.
‘But there is no animosity towards the men in the video. We frankly wish them the best in the future.
‘The focus is clearing her name and going after the publications and high-profile names that defamed her.’
He added their complaints are against anyone who suggested she was a racist, after she was branded a ‘Karen’.
A GoFundMe set up by her uncle has raised $117,765 of their goal, and will go towards paying her legal bills.
It read: ‘She became embroiled in a much-publicized incident with a Citibike that unfairly painted her as a racist ‘Karen.’
‘The facts have since proven this is a lie, but the damage has been done. In fact, Sarah is a dedicated healthcare worker who is six months pregnant.
‘She holds racial justice and equity dear, and has dedicated her life to serving NYC’s most challenged individuals.’
