The modern version of Bonny and Clyde – a busty influencer and her boyfriend – are now under arrest after attempting to rob a person in front of a bank in Brazil.
Social media influencer Karina Laino, 27, and her boyfriend, Edmilson Souza, 40, are alleged members of a small gang linked to a string of alleged robberies in the western Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Realengo and were finally apprehended Wednesday.
The two were part of a crew that would target people on their way to or from the bank, officials said.
Laino was known before the arrest, as she is a popular influencer on social media known for showing off her chest and posing for scantly-clad pictures.

Civil Police investigators were tracking the couple’s movements when they spotted their vehicle and followed them.
Laino, who was armed with a gun, and Souza were spotted standing by the doors of a local bank, waiting for their next target to come out when authorities finally apprehended them.
Police identified Laino as the driver in robberies in which she, her boyfriend and other gang members waited for their targets to deposit or withdraw money from the banks before robbing them.
Her Hyundai HB20 was used in at least three bank robberies reported in the western Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Sulacap.
In May, Laino is said to have participated in two robberies at the same bank where she and her boyfriend were arrested.
Surveillance footage from an April 10 incident showed a male gang member following a man to the ATM machine and pointing his gun before running off with the victim’s shoulder bag.
Laino and Souza appeared before Judge Bruno Rodrigues 1st Criminal Court of the Bangu Region on Friday and identified four other members of their gang who were involved in previous robberies.
The couple was placed in pre-trial detention. The four other suspects were on the run as of Monday.

‘I consider the preventive detention of those in custody necessary to guarantee public safety due to the evident social danger of those in custody,’ Rodrigues said during the hearing.
He based his decision ‘on the specific gravity of the crime and the risk of criminal repetition.’
Laino has 63,000 followers on TikTok and 54,000 on her recently closed Instagram account. She told investigators she was the owner of a casting agency she opened in September 2022.
In April, she shared of photo of herself on TikTok with a filter of a jail cell, adding a caption in Portuguese that reads: ‘If being jealous and neurotic were considered crimes, I would already be arrested.’
