My petty neighbour is trying to kick me out of my house by putting up ridiculous signs – it’s turned into all out WAR | The Sun

AN EXASPERATED woman claims her neighbour making her life hell in order to kick her out of her own home.

Jules Carlysle, who lives in Cobourg, Ontario, has accused her neighbour Shelley Miezlaiskis of intimidating her by putting up dozens of absurd signs, dumping rubbish into her garden and allegedly leaving dead animals on her lawn.

Because of the many instances in which her neighbour has reportedly bullied or threatened her, Carlysle described Miezlaiskis as a "Karen".

In a series of videos posted on Reddit and Youtube, Miezlaiskis can allegedly be seen leaving pieces of wood, bricks, cement blocks and rocks on Carlysle's front garden.

On one occasion, Miezlaiskis is allegedly seen putting up 14 huge yellow and black signs, reading "Beware of the dog" and "NO trespassing", on a 36ft fence, and another seven on a 16ft fence.

When Carlysle built her own fence to hide Miezlaiskis's fence and signs, her neighbour reportedly erected a 7ft pole overlooking Carlysle's garden to which she nailed six more signs.

Carlysle claimed that the neighbour war allegedly started when she first viewed the property, a 220-year-old three-bedroom English house called Pratt's cottage.

"I was looking at the place and a big piece of fence was down. It [had fallen] onto my property, and there was a chalkboard sign that said "See you in court"," Carlysle explained.

The home owner claimed: "My (now) house was empty at the time, and had been empty for six months. So who were the neighbours communicating with? They were sending a message to future potential buyers, because they want the property."

Three cottages, including those of Carlysle and Miezlaiskis, called Inn by the Mill, were built in the early 1800s by a wealthy family as part of one "grand estate".

“[I am sure] Shelley knew that and wanted to reunite the properties, the estate and they have been trying to get hold of the house since 1998,” she claimed, adding that she believes Miezlaiskis had issues with previous owners.

Carlysle did not go into detail nor provide evidence for those claims.

Upon buying and moving in, Carlysle said she went to introduce herself and her friend, who co-owns the property, to the neighbours.

After discussing with her friend, Carlysle told Miezlaiskis they had agreed to pay half of the cost of the fence.

"I said pick anything you want; let us know how much."

But after months of communicating by message, email and in person, Carlysle said Miezlaiskis then sent her an email informing her that they were fencing the whole property – front yard, back yard and all the way around.

"She told me the space was theirs, that they were doing six inches on the property and paying for themselves. I was told to call my lawyer and to see them in court," she recalled.

"They were doing it six inches onto their property because they did not want me to touch or paint it, staple anything to it or hang anything to it – although I had no intention of doing any of these things and I told them a thousands of times."

"Because of where their fence is, they can visit my side whenever they want. They tore down their back fence to keep access to my property."

But Carlysle alleged the problems didn't stop there.

The first incident reportedly involved roadkill.

"After I started finding dead animals in my yard, I bought security cameras. I didn't know I had a problem with my neighbours until then….and this was only the beginning."

There is no video evidence Miezlaiskis left the dead animals on the lawn.

Then one morning, Carlysle heard Miezlaiskis and her husband Tony Miezlaiskis busying in her front garden, digging up her plants – that she claimed they later threw away.

Further footage she recorded shows Miezlaiskis throwing buckets full of soil onto Julia's property, climbing onto Carlysle's pond area to attach a sign on an overhanging tree, or tossing weeds from her garden over the fence.

"Shelley inexplicably dumps soil mixed with garbage and yard waste over my fence," Carlysle said, before alleging: "She is trespassing and defacing my property".

"She accuses me of trespassing, which I have never done, while flagrantly harassing me, trespassing and interfering with my guests. These people have no boundaries."

Carlysle and Miezlaiskis are both AirBnB hosts – a situation Carlysle claimed may also leave Miezlaiskis "jealous".

Miezlaiskis and her husband Tony own the Inn By The Mill.

"I have never retaliated for the many ways she has violated my privacy and sense of peace. She is an angry, hateful, disruptive human being," Carlysle added.

The AirBnB host said she has not considered asking someone to physically remove Miezlaiskis from her yard, even if she feels threatened: "I'm keeping my hands clean for court."

"It's a lot of stuff they [Carlysle and her husband] have done. I don't know how far they need to go for police to take action."

Shelley has not responded to the Sun’s requests for comment. While Carlysle said she has called the police about this matter, no investigation or charges have been brought.
