One-time Oasis and Libertines manager Alan McGee denies rape allegations | The Sun

ALAN McGee has broken his silence after being accused of two rapes.

The former Oasis manager denied the rumours, calling them "unfounded and hurtful".

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed two reports of alleged rape of a woman by a man.

One is alleged to have happened in Southwark in London and the second alleged to have taken place on May 22, 2021 in Kensington and Chelsea

Speaking through a representative to the Sunday Mail, McGee said: "A number of allegations have been made against me, which are unfounded, hurtful and completely untrue.

"These false allegations have crossed the line into serious defamation and I have been left with no option but to commence legal proceedings against them.

"I will not be making any further comment at this stage."

McGee who was born in East Kilbride discovered Oasis after they played in Glasgow's King Tut's in 1993.

He signed the band on the spot and just over a year later the band released their debut album Definitely Maybe.

Through Creation Records he also worked with acts like Primal Scream, The Jesus and Mary Chain and the Libertines.
