A concerned female passenger’s tweet has gone viral after she asked train station staff members to check on a man who looked as though he had ‘frozen to death’, only to be told that it was a statue.
Emma Obank, an agent working in TV and film, was on a train passing through Woking railway station in Surrey when she spotted what she thought was a man sat on a bench looking unwell and covered in snow.
Emma contacted South Western Railway on Twitter and asked them to check if he was all right.
Emma wrote: ‘Hi, I’ve just been on the train passing through Woking. It looked like there was a man very unwell on Platform 1 on a bench. Can station staff check he’s ok?’
The rail company replied asking whereabouts on the platform he was and Emma told them that the figure was seated under a canopy.
