This is the moment a pensioner tried to rob three banks by shoving a threatening note under the counter which ordered staff to hand over wads of cash so ‘no one will get hurt’.
‘Shameless’ Andy Slattery, 69, walked into two different National Building Society bank branches in Bexhill and St Leonards, East Sussex, demanding employees to hand over £10 and £20 notes.
The handwritten note, which was also pushed through to staff at a NatWest Bank in Bexhill, read: ‘I am not f*****g about, just pass me the 10’s and 20’s now and no one will get hurt.’
While Slattery’s demands were shut down by staff on each occasion leaving him empty-handed, he was jailed for just over two-and-a-half years after admitting three counts of attempted robbery.
CCTV footage released last week showed him strolling into the banks on February 10 and slipping a piece of paper across the counter and under the Perspex barrier.

At Lewes Crown Court on April 5, Slattery from Hastings, East Sussex, was jailed for just over two-and-a-half years after he admitted three counts of attempted robbery
Detectives described his attempts to steal cash as ‘shameless requests’.
Police said the suspect was recognised for other crimes he’d committed in the area and was arrested hours after the audacious attempted robberies.
At Lewes Crown Court on April 5, Slattery from Hastings, East Sussex, was jailed for just over two-and-a-half years (32 months) after he admitted three counts of attempted robbery.
Inspector Olivia Carroll, of the Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood Policing Team at Sussex Police, welcomed his jail term.
She said on Friday, as the footage was released: ‘Slattery is well known for his previous offences in the area and could therefore be easily identified by staff who reported the incidents to us.

‘This led to him being quickly arrested by officers and charged within just 12 hours.
‘He was also remanded in custody to prevent him from re-offending and causing further harm to our communities. I welcome this custodial sentence.’
