Police launch probe after body of woman ‘in her 40s’ discovered close to a primary school

Police have launched a probe after the body of a woman believed to be in her 40s was discovered close to a primary school.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Ashfield Valley Primary School in Rochdale shortly after 4:30am today.
Two forensic tents were put up as Greater Manchester Police (GMP) taped off the area, according to The Sun.
Officers confirmed that the victim was a woman believed to be in her 40s.
The investigation is claimed to still be in the ‘early stages’ as the primary school was forced to shut for the day.

Nicky Porter, District Commander for Rochdale, said: ‘This morning GMP and paramedics responded to an incident very close to Ashfield Valley Primary School.
‘Unfortunately, a female was found at this location and I can confirm this morning she is deceased.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) taped off the area, and two forensic tents were put up
‘We now have an ongoing investigation and have specialist resources down at the scene, and we are working really hard to establish what’s occurred.’
