He was also accused of engaging in inappropriate, sexually motivated communications with another woman he met on duty between January and March 2019.

District Judge Leo Pyle told Wheeler: ‘As you have been advised, your charges, one of which you’ve you pleaded guilty to, have to be heard in crown court.
‘I’m going to fix that date at Nottingham Crown Court for November 10.
‘I will bail you to surrender there on that date at that time. As far as today is concerned you are free to go.’
The former police constable was charged following a probe by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
An IOPC spokesman said previously: ‘We received a referral from the force in February 2019 and investigated the allegations against PC Wheeler, who resigned from the force later that year.
‘At the end of the investigation in August 2020, the IOPC decided the matter should be referred to the Crown Prosecution Service, which has since authorised the charges of misconduct in public office.’
