Postwoman mauled to death by gang of five dogs after her truck broke down as neighbours heard haunting screams | The Sun

A POSTWOMAN has been mauled to death by a gang of five dogs after her truck broke down during her morning run.

Neighbours said they heard Pamela Rock, 61, scream for help as she was attacked along a north Florida road in the US.

Cops found the post woman laying on the ground when they arrived at the scene in Interlachen Lake Estate on Sunday afternoon.

Pamela suffered horrific injuries when her truck broke down in the street and a pack of dogs escaped their owner's home and attacked her.

The beloved mail woman was known for bringing children sweets during her postal routes, residents said after the horror mauling.

A nearby resident told police they heard the woman screaming for help and saw the dogs – which escaped through a hole in their owner's fence – attacking her.

A neighbour told the New York Times that they saw the dogs "'jumped the fence all the time" and previously killed a Chihuahua.

It's understood the owner – who has not been named – was confronted about their violent behaviours in the past by residents but did not act on their advice.

During the attack, several neighbours tried shooting into the air to scare the dogs off, which did not work.

Cops were told neighbours and the dogs' owner had to physically pull the dogs off the postwoman.
