Punters slam ‘robbing’ prices at Glastonbury festival bar – but would YOU pay? | The Sun

PUNTERS have slammed the "robbing" prices at a Glastonbury festival bar.

Thousands of campers will descend upon the world-famous festival in Pilton, Somerset, today as it opens its doors for the 51st year.

But festival-goers will experience soaring drink prices, according to an eye-watering price list shared on Twitter.

A user with the handle @TheGlastoThingy posted a price list for alcohol at a bar called The Bread & Roses at Glastonbury.

The image revealed prices for a pint start at £6.00, while single mixers will set revellers back £7.50 or £12.00 for a double.

A can of the energy drink Red Bull will cost £4.50 and the cheapest bottle of wine appears to be £29.

The drink prices are roughly around the same as the average cost of a pint in London.

And disgusted festival-goers were quick to take to social media to express their shock at the soaring prices for drinks.

One tweeted: "Glastonbury is the corporate monster of the festival circuit. Take your own if you don't wanna be rinsed."

Another said: "F*** me those spirit prices."

A third quipped:  "Glad I packed plenty of rum. Maybe backed up by the odd cheeky pint from the cider bus."

Others didn't think the prices were too bad with one person saying: "£6 for a cider, not too shabby."

This year will see world-class music stars play across the 900-acre festival, which will run until Sunday, as well as speeches by politicians, film screenings, theatre and circus performances and more.

The Sun has contacted Glastonbury festival organisers for comment.
