Schoolgirl Maja Wlodarczyk had 11th birthday sleepover with pals just weeks before being found dead in ‘murder-suicide’ | The Sun

AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl had celebrated her eleventh birthday party with a sleepover with pals just weeks before she was found dead alongside her family.

Schoolgirl Maja Wlodarczyk, her little brother Dawid, three, and their parents Michal Wlodarczyk, 39, and Monika, 35, were found dead at a London flat in what is thought to be a murder-suicide.

Emergency services were scrambled to the home in Hounslow, West London on Friday.

And the bodies of the tragic four were found – with neighbours paying tribute to the "absolutely gorgeous" young family.

One told The Sun Maja was "happy, bubbly, very intelligent, mature for her age".

The 11-year-old's pals have now paid tribute to her, after staying over to celebrate her birthday less than a month ago.

The children laid flowers near the home of their "beautiful" friend.

It was there that the youngster had celebrated her big day with a sleepover at home on May 31.

The newly-turned 11-year-old, who was due to start secondary school in September, is being remembered as "kind and extroverted".

Tributes are now flowing for the young girl and her family.

One neighbour told of how she watched mum Monika playing "very happily" with her two children just days before their tragic deaths.

Oana Petraru, 31, said she often saw the 35-year-old joking and laughing with her youngsters.

She said: "I just saw the mum because the garden is just out there. I saw her sometimes with the kids outside.

"They were very happy. She was always playing with them, with the ball, just being a mum, you know?

"There was nothing strange with them. I don't know them personally, but she seemed fine.

"They were laughing and playing in the garden a couple of days ago, the mum and the boy and the girl."

I still can't digest and understand what's happened and why it has happened.

Oana added: "She was always outside with them, as mums do. I saw her but not him.

"I never saw the dad, only maybe last week they were playing outside and he was up on the shed and he was climbing up to take the balls down.

"I never heard fighting. When you hear about adults it's terrible, but when kids are involved."

Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, spoke of the family's "shocking" deaths.

She said: "I still can't digest and understand what's happened and why it has happened, especially when there are little kids involved – it is just devastating."

Police are still probing the deaths of the family, which neighbours say were from Poland.

They were initially rushed to the home on Staines Road, Bedfont at 3.12pm on Friday after getting calls about the family's welfare.

Officers forced their way into the home and made the grim discovery.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley previously said: “I would like to assure the community that specialist detectives are working to establish the circumstances which led to this tragic incident and we will provide further updates as soon as appropriate.

"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by what has happened.

“Our investigation is at an early stage, and the situation remains that we are not currently seeking anybody else in connection with the incident.

“We are however retaining an open mind, and I would ask anyone who feels they have pertinent information to contact us as soon as possible.”
