A man aged 25 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was still today in custody for questioning, according to Greater Manchester Police.
The force said: "GMP can confirm an investigation into an attempt murder has now been launched. Officers were initially called to Dean Court in Dukinfield at around 8pm on Sunday 16 April 2023.
"As a result, a 25-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody for questioning.
"The injuries sustained by the victim were believed to be serious, but thankfully not life-threatening."
A GMP spokeswoman told the Sun this morning the suspect was still in custody and the victim had now been released from hospital.
A Dean Court resident and mother told the Manchester Evening News: "Having police at the end of your road is an everyday occurrence here.
“I’ve lived here for 15 years and it's not safe. I’ve had to get cameras because the ones in the street don’t work anymore.
"The police are just called out here so much and they’re so stretched – they’re doing their best.
“And the kids are seeing it every day. This place is a forgotten corner.”
