A TEEN girl was stabbed and left bleeding in the street for five hours before she was found by a dog walker.

Cops have arrested a 17-year-old boy after the horror incident in Benhall, Suffolk, at 7am this morning.

Police rushed to the scene to reports that a teenage girl had been assaulted close to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green.

She was treated for stab wounds and a back injury and taken to Ipswich hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

But it's thought she was actually stabbed at 2am – and was not discovered for another five hours when a dog walker alerted emergency services.

Cops arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both the victim and suspect are known to each other and at this time police say they are treating it as an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have the pair in the area of the assault and to get in touch.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information or knowledge of the incident should contact Suffolk police quoting CAD 83 of Sunday 2 October.
