- Mary Trump, a longtime vocal critic of her uncle, former President Donald Trump said she thinks his son-in-law Jared Kushner may have been the informant
- FBI recovered 11 boxes of classified documents during the Mar-a-Lago raid
- Sources told The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek that a source told the feds about the materials and where to look for them
- Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney has also suggested Kushner might be the FBI informant
- Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, served as a senior adviser to Trump
Former President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, has suggested his son-in-law Jared Kushner could be the mole in the Trump camp who tipped off the FBI about confidential documents that were being held at Mar-a-Lago.
Monday’s raid was approved by Attorney General Merrick Garland, but it’s believed a confidential source first gave information to federal authorities.
Speaking with SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, Mary Trump was asked if she had any idea who the suspect might be.
While she acknowledged that it was ‘tough to choose’ she ultimately suggested that Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, who served as senior White House advisers in the Trump administration, might be to blame.

‘It’s so tough to choose. I want it to be all of them. You know, I think we need to start with who would have access to this stuff. I don’t think Mark Meadows [former White House Chief of Staff] would have access to it,’ Mary Trump began.
‘I think we need to look very hard at why Jared got $2 billion. We need to look very hard at why he has been so quiet for so many months now.
‘And we need to think about who could also be implicated in this that would need as big a play as turning Donald in, in order to get out of trouble, or at least to mitigate the trouble they’re in,’ she mused.
‘It sounds like somebody in Jared’s position. I’m not saying it’s Jared, but. It could be,’ Trump said with a smile.
The $2 billion Mary Trump was referring to came from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund roughly six months after Donald Trump vacated the White House.
Mary Trump is not the only person to have suggested a mole may lie within the ex-president’s Florida residence.
Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen similarly hinted that one of his children or his son-in-law may be to blame.
‘It’s definitely a member of [Trump’s] inner circle,’ Cohen told Insider on Thursday. ‘I would not be surprised to find out it is Jared or one of his children.’
‘Who else would know about the existence of a safe and the specific contents kept inside?’ Cohen asked.
The Mar-a-Lago raid was based on a confidential human source who gave the information to the FBI reported Newsweek with officials explaining how the raid was deliberately timed for when Trump was not present at the property.

On Wednesday the Wall Street Journal reported how after a June meeting with the FBI at Mar-a-Lago, someone who had knowledge of the stored files tipped off the authorities that there may be further classified documents being kept at the club.

It was in early February it was revealed how Trump had improperly taken classified documents back with him to Mar-a-Lago.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) confirmed that it had been looking for 15 boxes of records.
Trump did not deny the story and explained it as a mix-up as he hastily moved out of The White House.
But once the boxes were returned to the NARA, there was further concern that additional classified materials were still being held.
Investigators interviewed Trump staffers in an attempt to determine what had been taken.
In May, it resulted in a grand jury subpoena for Trump to produce specific documents.
When the specific documents were not handed over, the FBI and Justice Department decided to carry out a search warrant against former President Trump with a federal judge approving the warrant after the FBI demonstrated probable cause.
On Saturday, Trump lashed out once again over the FBI raid calling the court-approved search a ‘hoax and scam’.
‘Like all of the other Hoaxes and Scams that they’ve used to try and silence the voice of a vast majority of the American People, I have TRUTH on my side, and when you have TRUTH, you will ultimately be victorious,’ Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social network.
Trump is under federal investigation for possible violations of the Espionage Act, which makes it unlawful to mishandle classified information, including sharing it with people not authorized to receive it, a search warrant made public on Friday showed.
