BRITAIN is set to be battered with rain as flood alerts are put in place – but the weather's looking to get better.
The Met Office has warned today will be a wet one for parts of the country, with the damp conditions set to stick.
It comes after heavy downpours and 45mph winds smashed the country over the weekend, and forecasters issued flood alerts for England and Scotland.
But the rain is expected to settle and Brits will get to bask in sunshine in different parts of the country tomorrow, the Met said.
This morning flooding alerts, by the Environment Agency and Scottish Environment Protection Agency, were still in place.
There is a possible flooding alert for Cumbria, with a high risk of flooding on the River Greta, River Derwent, and Derwent Water lake, following heavy rain in recent days.

In Scotland there is a flood alert in place for Dumfries and Galloway following downpours yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Met Office said today's showers are likely to be heaviest across central and eastern areas of the country.
They said the drizzle this evening is likely to start easing in the east, while elsewhere will enjoy long dry spells.
Much of the country is predicted to be rain-free by midnight, but a few showers are expected to persist in Scotland.

Speaking of tomorrow and the coming days, the Met said: "A bright start for many, but showers bubbling up during the course of the morning.
"Feeling pleasant with some sunny spells and near-average temperatures.
"Friday will be rather cool with sunny spells and showers. More persistent rain will arrive from the west later, giving a widely wet and windy day on Saturday and Sunday."
It comes as much of Europe continues to battle intense heat, with some parts hitting temperatures higher than 40C, Brits have been dealing with gloomy conditions.
However the Met says we will start to see more summery days as we enter August.
With the UK expecting to see less rainfall and lighter winds, it will naturally start to feel warmer.
Forecasters did predict that temperatures will still remain average for that time of year.
The weather service said: "The likelihood of showers may decrease towards the middle of the month, as more settled conditions become somewhat more probable.
"Temperatures are generally expected to be around average for the time of year, with spells of very warm or hot conditions being less likely than usual."
