BRITS have been hit with warnings for rain in a weekend washout and holiday getaway chaos – but at least the cricket is back on.
The Met Office is issued a yellow rain warning for north Wales and much of northern England throughout tomorrow.
It made for a soggy start to the school holidays on what is thought to be the busiest day of the year for getaways.
And the wet weather left cricket fans fearing that play would be stopped as England chased a vital win over Australia on the fourth day of the fourth Ashes Test.
Play was allowed to resume at 2.45pm, giving supporters hope of victory at Old Trafford in Manchester.
But heavy rain will disrupt other outdoor events, with wet roads and tracks lengthening car trips and delaying trains already under pressure due to national rail strikes.

The Met Office said that between 20mm and 30mm will fall across most of the area covered by the warning – with 50-70mm falling in "a few places".
The rain will ease overnight from Sunday evening, with scattered showers forecast for the week ahead.
Temperatures will stay rather cool before wind and heavy rain return on Wednesday.

The Port of Dover said it was taking about an hour for departing passengers to pass through border checks.
And queues were seen at airports as families jetted to sunnier climes in search of some warmer weather.
In a bid to help families travel more easily, the Home Office is letting children aged 10 and over enter the UK through eGates across 15 air and rail ports from Monday.
Border Force expects to see more than 34 million air arrivals coming through UK passport control over the coming month.
