PARENTS were shocked to find a furious note telling them they would be fined for letting their kids play in the garden.
A letter sent to flat residents in Salford near Manchester said they will be fined £42 if their children play football or even walk around in the grounds of the building.
The strongly-worded note said that no ball games were allowed on site including in its gardens – and that residents are in breach of the terms of their lease if kids play unsupervised there.
It reads: "This letter is being issued to all residents following complaints of children playing unsupervised within the gardens including playing football.
"No ball games are allowed on site – this includes the gardens.
"It is against the lease to allow children to be within any communal area unsupervised, this includes playing with the gardens.

"One of the pettiest, most miserable letters I’ve ever seen.

"Fining people for letting their children walk around? Jesus.
"Finally get some decent weather and people are supposed to keep their kids locked up inside unless they’re going to go and sit with them?
"This will be going further. All the other residents seem to agree its b******s."
When asked how the £42 fine was calculated, Jack replied: "With a dartboard, probably."
Other parents were shocked by the mean-spirited letter.
Matthew said: "Maybe the adults should organise a game or two.
"See how loud some semi sober and outraged sports enthusiasts can get."
Paul said: "It says the communal gardens are for all residents to enjoy.
"Forgive me if I'm being stupid, but aren't children residents?"
Alexis said: "£42 for 10 kids to play football for an hour is better value than some five-a-side pitches."
The company which manages the flats declined to comment when phoned by The Sun.
