A COUPLE have said they are “completely traumatised” after their beloved dog died after being left in a hot car just hours after their wedding.
Luna the pug tragically died after being left in a hot van for two hours – with the kennel meant to be looking after the pooch since apologising for the deadly mistake.
Newlyweds Ffion James and Ben Hill had organised their dream wedding at South Farm in Royston, with their sweet pug playing a starring role as he was snapped with them walking down the aisle.
The couple had then organised for Country Boarding for Cats and Dogs to pick up their dog so he could relax while the party continued.
But the pair, from Preston, have now been left heartbroken after the kennel left Luna in the van for two hours, with the pooch dying as temperatures reached a scorching 28C.
The kennel have since apologised but the tragedy has left the couple devastated, since cancelling their planned honeymoon in Bath.
Grieving bride Ffion said: “They put her in a van, parked in their car park and then just forgot about her. Poor Luna died in what was basically an oven.”
"The weather would have made the van unbearably hot, and I can’t imagine the suffering she must have gone through."
Country Boarding have admitted that the pug had been left unattended in a van for two hours.

But Ffion said she wanted the kennel to be closed down, saying: "I'm absolutely devastated and still can't bring myself to look at the photos.
"To think my Luna was dying in the back of a van while we were celebrating is just too horrific to contemplate."
Wedding photos show Ben holding Luna in his arms as the beaming couple celebrate their new marriage.
Renate Burrowes, co-owner of Country Boarding, apologised to the couple, saying that the incident had "devastated us all here at Country Boarding".
"We care deeply for all the animals we look after and to have something like this happen has left us completely heartbroken."
In an attempt to explain the failure, Ms. Burrowes said: "Jeremy picked little Luna up from her owners' wedding venue and brought her back to the kennels at 3pm."
"When he arrived back he was urgently called in to fix a system issue which was affecting customers in reception."
"This distracted Jeremy from notifying a staff member to come and collect the dog, as would be the normal procedure. Two hours later, I found Luna in the van at 5pm."
"We were so heartbroken for this little dog and so wished for her to come alive again", she added in closing.

However, the couple say the apology is "not good enough" and have called for the kennel to close down.
In response to Ms. Burrowes statement, Ffion said "We want everyone to know what happened and the kennels closed down in case it happens again".
