On June 24, 2022, President Joe Biden made a speech in regards to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Biden said of SCOTUS' decision to reverse abortion rights: "With Roe gone, let's be very clear."
"The health and life of women in this country are now at risk."
He further stated: "This is a sad day for the country, but it doesn't mean the fight is over."

Prior to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Biden made headlines after he revealed he was "considering" a federal gas tax holiday.
On June 22, 2022, he then called on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax until September to help ease the financial stress the soaring prices have put on Americans.
"By suspending the 18-cent gas tax, federal gas tax for the next 90 days, we can bring down the price of gas and give families just a little bit of relief," Biden said in a speech from the White House, via CNN.

"I fully understand that a gas tax holiday alone is not going to fix the problem," he continued, "but it will provide families some immediate relief, just a little bit of breathing room as we continue working to bring down prices for the long haul."
Just days prior to his speech, Biden made headlines after he fell off his bike near his Delaware beach house.
He told his wife and the crowd that he was "alright" and said his shoe got caught in the "toe cages" when he tried to brake.

Biden appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 8, 2022, in his first late-night interview since taking the presidency.
Kimmel announced he would be hosting the president in a tweet on June 5, saying, "Our very elected President @JoeBiden visits @JimmyKimmelLive Wednesday night. No malarkey."
His appearance on the show came as his approval ratings dropped in recent weeks as he battles Covid-19, soaring gas prices and inflation, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Biden's previous appearances on late shows occurred prior to his presidency when he was interviewed on Late Night with Stephen Colbert.
What did Joe Biden say about mass shootings?
Biden delivered a prime-time address regarding the recent mass shootings in the US, on June 2, 2022.
It was the second time in ten days that Biden is delivered a prime-time address.
He called on Congress to pass legislation aimed at fighting gun violence in the United States.
"The rights granted by the second amendment are not unlimited," Biden said.
"This isn’t about taking away anyone’s rights it is about protecting children’s lives."
He touched on the age limits for assault weapons in Texas, pointing out that one can buy an assault weapon at 18 years old but needs to be 21 years old to buy a pistol.
"Don’t tell me raising the age won’t make a difference," Biden added.

In addition, he called on the US Congress and Senate to pass national red flag laws, raise the age to buy assault weapons to 21 and tougher laws to prevent gun trafficking.
President Biden also added that the US needs to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
