Hayley's debut for Canberra United came during the 2011/2012 season and she scored her first senior goal in October 2012.
She moved to Brisbane Roar in 2013 and stayed there until she signed for National Women's Soccer League team Washington Spirit in June 2015.
Raso joined Portland Thorns in 2016 but was loaned back to Canberra United for the 2016/2017 season.
She played another of her former teams, Brisbane Roar FC, on loan for the 2017/ 2018 season.
In 2018 Hayley suffered a painful back injury and fractured three vertebrae.
After recovering from her injury, she returned – on loan – to Brisbane Roar for the 2018/2019 season.
In January 2020, Raso was transferred to UK side Everton, marking her debut in the FA Women's Super League.
She then moved to Manchester City in 2021 on a two-year contract.
Real Madrid announced they had signed Raso in July 2023.

Hayley played for Australia's senior national team for the first time in 2012.
She made her debut during a match against New Zealand, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Hayley also represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Raso was named player of the match after Australia's final group match against Canada.
She scored two of Australia's four goals in the game.
