A woman who claims she was spiked via injection has released distressing footage showing her condition following the incident.
Layla Jane Bartlett, 20, said it happened at the Slug & Lettuce bar in Chelmsford last Friday and shared a series of clips to her social media profile showing her ‘symptoms’.
In the distressing clips, Layla can be seen moaning on her friends lap and moving her head back and forth.
Whilst making guttural sounds with her mouth, Layla is at one point heard saying: ‘I don’t want to die.’
Accompanying the post, Layla explained how she believed she was spiked.
She said: ‘I was spiked in Slug & Lettuce, Chelmsford. For me and my friends this is our normal night out.
‘As we all know spiking is so more common now but you always think ”it won’t ever happen to me” – unfortunately last night it was me.
‘It’s absolutely heartbreaking that my mum and friends had to see me like this. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
‘I do not remember a thing but my friends and mum are left in absolute devastation.
‘We are pretty sure this wasn’t a drink spike either. I have woken up with a red mark and a numb arm.’
The young woman also made a series of allegations against Essex Police and bar staff at the Slug and Lettuce – whom she claims didn’t take her seriously.
She said: [Chelmsford Slug & Lettuce] kicked me out when I started showing symptoms, left my friends sobbing for help outside and laying me down on a bench whilst all the security looked.
‘The manager and ‘security team’ is disgusting and they said ‘All these young girls drink too much and end up like this’.
‘Essex Police you have been no help, considering you’re the people who are meant to protect us!
‘When my friends were crying for help as I was laying on a bench unconscious you walked straight past and didn’t help.
‘You had the cheek to say ‘have a good night ‘ as you walked past and giggle to my friends.’

A spokesperson for Slug and Lettuce said: ‘Guest safety is our priority and we take any allegations of drink spiking very seriously.
‘We are in contact with the guest and her family and we will fully assist the police with their enquiries including any requests for CCTV.’
A spokesman for Essex Police told MailOnline they were taking reports of a spiking ‘very seriously.’
A spokesman said: ‘We are currently investigating a report of a spiking, which is alleged to have occurred at a venue in Chelmsford Town Centre on Friday night.
‘The report came into us around 5pm on Saturday and contact has been made with the victim following the allocation of an investigation. Enquiries are ongoing.
‘We understand how all these alarming these reports can be and we can assure the public that we are taking this extremely seriously.
‘We encourage anyone who believes they have been spiked to contact us as quickly as possible on 101 or in an emergency call 999.’
