WRGB Albany TV anchor Heather Kovar slurs words through botched broadcast where she FORGETS colleague's name | The Sun

A TV anchor slurred her words through a botched broadcast where she forgot a colleague’s name.

Heather Kovar shocked viewers in Albany when she appeared disheveled on-air Saturday.

It is now being learned that Kovar has been suspended from her job after she seemed jittery and wide-eyed during her segments and was incoherent at times.

“And so, moving on tonight, is we have to tell you also, you know, like other news that’s happening in the area, and across the area, in the nation,” said Kovar during the broadcast, stumbling over her words.

At one point, Kovar attempts to introduce meteorologist Craig Gold to give a weather report and accidentally calls him “Craig Adams.”

“Why did I say that?” she said, trying to correct her mistake. “And of course, just like me, meteorologist Craig Gold is working a double shift and so, uh, he’s in…”

The anchor also tried to discuss an explosion at a natural-gas plant in Oklahoma but was having trouble getting through her words.

Suddenly, she changed subjects during the report, strangely announcing, “Well, hello! Good afternoon!”

“Like, I was telling you this morning, if you watched us this morning starting at 6am, 7am, I told you, you know what? Today, what a beautiful day outside! It is just amazing. And so, a great time for outdoor music.”

Kovar also seemed to have technical issues during the segment and could be seen holding a wire during the broadcast before she was cut off while speaking mid-sentence.

WRGB Albany announced she was suspended pending an investigation.

Kovar shared a selfie on Twitter, writing that she would be back on the air Sunday morning, however, she did not appear and was replaced by Emma Quinn.

Kovar has been an anchor for WRGB, also known as CBS 6, since July 2016.

Viewers expressed their concerns on social media.

“I hope heather ok…she looks a wreck and she is slurring,” wrote one viewer.

It was revealed that Kovar had recently returned from leave as she was taking care of her father before his death, according to the Times Union of Albany.

She wrote in a Facebook post back in May that “the station has graciously allowed me to take some time off to be with my family in Texas.”

Kovar’s father later passed away that month, according to her social media.
