Game of Thrones’ season eight teaser trailer has finally dropped – and viewers finally can finally get a sneak peak at that epic final battle.
The upcoming eighth and final season of the hit HBO series is set to air in April 2019 and, unsurprisingly, viewers should expect more than a few brutal deaths.
In the latest teaser trailer, battle lines are drawn as the ice meets the fire and fans will finally discover who comes out on top.
The camera pans over a map of Westeros, with the ice rolling over one of Daenerys’ dragons and a Stark Direwolf.
Meanwhile the fire smothers a lion, presumably representing the Lannisters.
At the end of the short teaser, the series confirmed the month the series would start airing, though the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
US network executive, Casey Bloys from HBO said: "I’m not going to say what to expect [in the final season] though it’e s pretty great."
This comes after actor Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, said that he was left in tears over the season finale.
He revealed that he had decided not to read through the scripts in advance and instead found out what happened during a read-through of the script with his castmates.
Kit told Entertainment Weekly: "I walked in saying, ‘Don’t tell me, I don’t want to know.’
What’s the point of reading it to myself in my own head when I can listen to people do it and find out with my friends?”
