Dianne Buswell updates fans on her dad’s cancer treatment
Strictly’s Dianne Buswell has given her followers an update about her father as he continues to fight his battle with cancer. The Australian dancer shared that her dad, Mark, is now undergoing his third round of chemotherapy.
The BBC star has previously opened up about the struggles of being away from her native Australia while her father struggles with his health. She recently shared an emotional video of her and Mark in hospital, adding the soundtrack ‘Better Together’ by Jack Johnson.
She wrote the caption: “Round 3. proud of you dad always with a positive mind frame and smile on your face.” In the footage, Dianne can be seen walking into hospital with her arms linked with her father, and showing him in a hospital chair as he gives the camera a thumbs up.
Many of her 996,000 followers flooded the comments section with words of support. Fellow Strictly star Amy Dowden, who is currently fighting breast cancer, said: “Cmon mark you got this! Love you both xxxx.” (sic)
Neil Jones, another Strictly professional dancer, typed: “This makes me so happy to see the love you have for each other. Stay strong.” Gorka Marquez said: “You got this Mark!!!”

2023 Strictly contender Amanda Abbington penned: “So beautiful. All of you. Sending you massive cuddles and the most love and light!!” And former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips wrote: “So beautiful. With love this Xmas and the happiest and healthiest on New Year.”
One Strictly fan commented: “Come on Mark, we’re all behind you! So happy you’re with him D. Sending all the love,” whilst another similarly typed: “Go on Mark you’ve got this. Hopefully would have been easier today with you by his side.”
Dianne had previously told her fans that she would be spending Christmas with her family in Australia this year. She landed in the country earlier this week and shared a heartwarming selfie on Instagram with her and her father saying: “I’m home.”

Dianne has just finished competing in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing as she made it all the way to the final with EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier. Despite impressing the judges, Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola were crowned champions.
This was the second time that Dianne had made it to the final of Strictly Come Dancing in her career. She last appeared in the final with her now-boyfriend Joe Sugg in 2018, but the pair fell short of lifting the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
Their loss did not mean the end of their partnership, as the couple announced their romance shortly after the final. Taking to his official Instagram profile, Joe posted: “I may not have won the Glitterball, but I’ve won something a million times more special.”
