Megan Fox appears to be back in her “Barbie” era. On May 18, the actor attended the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party in New York City wearing a new auburn hair color and a sheer black dress. Ever the lover of a good beauty moment, Fox also revisited her Barbiecore era by wearing a pink manicure courtesy of her long-time nail artist Brittany Boyce. Still, she added a bit of edginess with a tiny detail.
For the occasion, Fox’s nails were filed into a long almond shape. As is tradition with anything Barbie-related, they were painted a bright pink — Apres Nail’s Electric Lolita ($15), to be exact — which popped against her dress. For nail art worthy of a movie star, Fox opted for chrome veining on each finger in a silver metallic hue. A final swipe of a matte topcoat completed the look.
Chrome nails have been trending over the last year, and stars like Zendaya and Dua Lipa have all shown their support. Barbiecore, on the other hand, has seemingly taken on a life of its own as we inch closer to the premiere of Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” so this combination feels particularly timely.
