This sustainable Aussie makeup brand supports local charities

Buying sustainably and ethically is more important now than ever before – and makeup brands are taking note.

Slowly but surely, more are making use of kinder-to-earth packaging and formulations.

Eye of Horus is one of these brands, and the Australian beauty company has this at the heart of their thinking.

They tick a lot of boxes, being cruelty-free, paraben-free and gluten-free, as well as working on sustainable packaging.

Their award-winning Bio Lipstick, for example, has 98% natural ingredients and is cased in biodegradable packaging.

Products are made – in most cases – locally, in small-batch products.

With this comes quality and care, as well as support for local artisans.

Even better, $1 of every order goes to a charity, of which you get to pick from a list.

It’s a small gesture, but one that adds up along with their other ethical considersations.

As for the products themselves, moringa oil (the star ingredient in Emma Hardie’s famous cleanser) features in all of the products, as it’s known for having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Now you can get up to 60% in their sale, running until July 1.

The Goddess Mascara, which reviewers say is water-resistant, is just one product you can snap up in the sale.

One thing you should add to cart are the refill palettes, which let you design and create a palette to your liking.

The best part – if you use up your favourite shade, just buy a refill for it, rather than a whole new palette.
