Adele halts her show as she shares opinion on David Beckham’s new documentary

Adele responds to recent trend of items being thrown at performers onstage

Adele is famous for her mid-show gossip and this time one very famous footballer and his pop star wife were the main subjects of it.

During one of her recent Las Vegas residency shows, Adele took the time to discuss the new David Beckham documentary, which landed on Netflix earlier this month.

The four-part tell-all doc, titled Beckham, gave viewers an unprecedented look into the Manchester United alum’s life on and off the pitch – from captaining England to his marriage and family life with Victoria in her iconic Spice Girls days.

And it turns out pop sensation Adele is a massive fan of David’s new series and she made it very clear during one of her shows.

During a performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace earlier this month, the Hello singer took a moment to share her love of Posh and Becks with the crowd.

Sitting next to a grand piano on stage, Adele began: “To us, because I’m British, Beckham and Posh are literally like our king and queen,” as the crown cheered.

“For real – we absolutely love them. It feels like my whole life I’ve been watching them and loving everything that they do,” she went on to say, as she explained how prominent David and Victoria are in England to her American audience.

“So I watched it and it made me feel very nostalgic,” Adele revealed, giving her thoughts on the new doc.

She then went on to admit: “I just love a bit of Beckham, really. He’s absolutely the national worldwide treasure to me.”

The Grammy-winning singer then prompted her fans if they haven’t seen it “you should watch it.”

But she warned her stateside audience: “It is very British though,” but pointed out: “Although the person that’s talking to him [filmmaker Fisher Stevens] is American, which is a bit strange. Only because [David’s] so British.”

In another clip from a recent show, Adele confessed she was awake until 3.30am the previous night watching the documentary.

She explained: “Yesterday I started the Beckham documentary, have any of you started? And I finished it last night and I didn’t want to go to sleep. I absolutely loved it. I thought it was wonderful. It was very nostalgic and very moving and it made me very homesick.”

She gave the crowd further context as to why the iconic couple are so special to her, adding: “They’re absolute legends to us, Beckham and also Posh. Especially when I was a kid, she was a Spice Girl and he was the captain of England. Can you imagine?”
