Bam Margera lashed out at Jackass pal Steve-O over help offer

Jackass star Steve-O has opened up about his relationship with Bam Margera, who turned himself into police after a “days-long” manhunt.

On the latest episode of podcast, Steve-O’s Wild Ride!, Steve-O, 48, discussed his pal’s ongoing addiction struggles.

Worried they were out of other options, he declared he “wanted Margera to be arrested” so he could get the help he needs.

Margera, 43, sensationally turned himself in following a days-long manhunt by law enforcement on Thursday evening, after going on the run with his girlfriend.

Ahead of the arrest, Steve-O shared an insight into the pair’s relationship, and claimed Margera lashed out at him when he offered to help find a way to support his five-year-old son, Phoenix.

He explained: “Nikki [Boyd, Margera’s estranged wife] filed for legal separation and sole custody and now there’s a whole new wrinkle in it and we are gonna be talking about alimony, child support and he’s going to have to pay it anyway.

“So I suggested we sell these skateboards, and then we have money to go straight to Phoenix – child support, alimony – as it’s coming out of your pocket either way.

“And when I made that suggestion I got a call from a very drunk Bam. ‘How dare you, I did my work’. And I was like ‘I paid you for everything you did I’m on about in the future’.”

Steve then shared his sadness over his friend’s ongoing struggles, while also sharing his desire for Bam to get clean.

He continued: “I was laying in the shower, soaking in the water and just thinking about it. This craziness with Bam.

“What I’m so sad about is that if he was happy and healthy, not only would he be thriving, the two of us would be so much stronger together.”

Steve, who has now been sober for 14 years following his own drug and alcohol addiction, has been trying to help Margera through his addictions, even letting him open his Bucket List tour back in January.

However, less than a week into shows, Margera left the tour, and Steve later revealed on Instagram he had fallen off the wagon.

He wrote: “You’re dying brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you.”

He also shared a lengthy comment, which he soon deleted, revealing his friends’ behaviour.

Steve began: “Bam, last night you had your five-year-old son with you on stage at my show, and you were blessed with the chance to spend another day or two with him – then as soon as you left my show, you stayed up all night getting loaded enough to think it was a good idea to post more vile nonsense like this.

“I hope you understand how awful that is. You say you want to have a relationship with your son, but your actions guarantee the exact opposite will happen.

“I brought you on tour with me in hopes that I could get you to see what’s possible for you if you choose recovery. I’ve tried everything I can, but I can’t force you to get honest and do the work of recovery.”

Margera had been on the run since Sunday, prior to turning himself in yesterday.

The Jackass star is facing criminal charges after allegedly assaulting his brother and making terroristic threats to other relatives.

He was subsequently released on a $50,000 bail, court records revealed, after he pleaded not guilty.

This comes after his partner, Nikki Boyd, filed for divorce in February after claiming he was not sober during a visit with his son, Phoenix, five.

She requested full legal and physical custody, but says Margera should be allowed to have supervised visits with his son in the Los Angeles area.
