Big Brother legend confirms return to iconic house ahead of reboot

Nádia Almada, who won the fifth series of Big Brother back in 2004, has shared that she's "excited" to return to the iconic house, as ITV is set to air a reboot of the reality show later this year.

The former champ, 46, who was the first transgender person to appear on the show, has revealed that she, and a number of other former contestants may be appearing in the new series.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "I think that's the beauty of this memory of this experience on the show, it's the icon status.

"I love the show, I would love for them to see us and to have us and kind of remember, the pioneers of the show and I think it's kind of becoming a full circle. I've manifested it."

Sharing her excitement at a potential return, she continued: "It's exciting they're considering bringing us back and it's sort of nostalgic, the transition from the original fanbase to bring in the most memorable housemates into the new series."

Nádia then shared that she wants to return to the show to show "the kids how it's done", adding that her mum also loves the show and keeps telling her to take part in the Portuguese edition.

It comes after The Sun reported that “Nasty Nick” Bateman, Chanelle Hayes, and Nádia are just some of the former contestants who may be returning to the house.

An insider told the outlet: "They have really fired the imaginations of show bosses because they are keen to recapture the magic that made the programme such a hit when it launched 23 years ago.

"It won’t be a reboot full of old faces, it’s likely to be a smattering rather than a deluge of BB veterans."

The source added that the producers want a number of more "controversial characters" to return to the show to make things interesting and potentially stir up drama.

They continued: "The one thing they don’t want to do is deliver a show which is essentially a Love Island-style contest full of beautiful people."

And they aren't the only legends to return to the popular reality show as ITV is said to have signed a deal with original narrator Marcus Bentley.

Tyneside star Marcus' iconic "day [insert number here] in the Big Brother house" words are remembered in most UK households today, despite the show last going airing in 2008.

The voiceover star narrated Big Brother from the first series in 2000 on Channel 4 all the way to the final episode on Channel 5.
