Britney Spears apologises for ‘yelling at innocent teen’ after Jamie Lynn ‘lied’

DWTS: Jamie Lynn Spears dances the Cha Cha

Britney Spears has apologised to Zoey 101 star Alexa Nikolas, who was embroiled in a nasty ‘bullying’ scandal with Jamie Lynn Spears.

Nikolas appeared in the Nickolodeon kids show with Britney’s younger sister, who was reportedly set to have a reunion with Britney before being booted off Dancing With The Stars.

Jamie Lynn was accused of making the Zoey 101 set a ‘very toxic, unhealthy work environment’ by her co-star, who said she was ‘bullied’ by Britney’s sibling.

In Jamie Lynn’s memoir, Things I Should Have Said, she claimed she felt humiliated on set as Nikolas was spreading rumors about her, something which she denies.

However, in her new book The Woman In Me, Britney has now apologized for “yelling” at Nikolas after discovering she was in fact “innocent”.

Admitting she was “protective” over Jamie Lynn, Britney writes: “After she complained to me about a costar of hers on her TV show, I showed up on set to have words with the actress.

“What must I have looked like, hugely pregnant, yelling at a teenage (and, I would later learn, innocent) girl, ‘Are you spreading rumos about my sister?’ (To that young actress: I’m sorry.)”

Nikolas, who played Nicole on the show, has already responded to Britney’s apology after seeing an early excerpt from the memoir.

“Oh my god I’m in shock! WOW! Apparently Britney Spears mentioned me in her NEW book and apologized to me AGAIN! She is beyond an inspiration! Seriously,” Nikolas, now 31, wrote on Twitter.

“I am gonna say this a thousand times over! She is absolutely incredible! What a beautiful soul. Thank you Britney!”

This is not the first time that Britney has apologized to Nikolas over the ‘bullying’ storm.

In November last year, the Toxic singer spoke out after Nikolas shared her ‘traumatizing’ encounter with the pop star from 16 years ago.

In a lengthy statement, Brit shared that it was her mother Lynne who should have stepped in and blamed the outburst on her pregnancy hormones.

She wrote: “It broke my heart to see your interview about your experience in the business… Hollywood is a place of dreams but let’s be honest … on rare occasions do people come out years later and share the dark side!!!
