Brooklyn Beckham mocked for claiming he was chef while driving £1m supercar

Brooklyn Beckham has been trolled by TikTok viewers after he was called out by a social media star after claiming he was a humble “chef” – while driving a £ 1 million supercar.

The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham was spotted driving around in the red McLaren P1 in Beverly Hills. But many have begun to wonder what exactly the star does for a living to afford such luxury.

Well-known TikToker Daniel Mac, 24, quizzed the newly-wed about the top-notch motor when he saw him cruising down Rodeo Drive.

Daniel asked his famous question what do you do for a living? And in response, Brooklyn said: "Um, I'm a chef."

Daniel's questions are typically in relation to high-earning industries like finance or tech but, on this occasion, the celebrity offspring was his latest target.

He continued: "Are you like the best chef in the world?"

"Trying to be," Brooklyn replies.

The video began with Daniel running up to Brooklyn as he drove past in his flashy red sports car, before leaning in with his camera and asking the budding chef about his profession.

Recognising the social media star, Brooklyn initially said: "Oh my god, I know you."

The social media star even added a picture of a Disney character, Remy – a rat who becomes a chef in the popular Disney movie, Ratatouille as a way of adding humour to his clip edits.

Daniel then chimed: 'What's your chef name? If that's a thing?'

To which he gushed: "My name's Brooklyn."

When Daniel asks if Brooklyn has any tips for those who want to get into cooking, the budding chef simply says: "Just follow your passion. Whatever makes you happy, just keep doing it."

Daniel shouted “this car is insane” as the high-performance motor, which has a top speed of over 215mph, sped off.

The star's viral video sent the platform users into hysterics as the comment section instantly came alive with many pointing out the irony of his decision to claim that being a chef was the reason he could afford his car.

"What do you do for a living? ‘my parents are rich so I just kinda vibe’,” commented one viewer said.

“What do you do for a living? – I was born,” joked another.

A third quipped: “Born into a multimillionaire family and now married a billionaire's daughter. But he’s a chef!!”

“Chef he meant to say daddy’s money. The guy has never worked a shift in a restaurant in his life,” a fourth exclaimed.

“Not him pretending being a chef got him that car….. Brooklyn, please,” said a fifth.

However, one user did comment in Brooklyn’s favour saying: “He seems really sweet. It’s not his fault he was born rich. Too many haters in the comments.”

Another penned: "Bless him, didn't even mention his surname or background.. how humble."

Earlier in this month, Brooklyn was seen enjoying a drive in his dad’s luxury sports car as he ran errands in LA. The car is said to have a retail price tag of around £300,000.

While Brooklyn's career continues to cause controversy, he is not new to being ridiculed.

He recently spoke of his hopes to open a pub in LA that serves 'healthy comfort food' and have a reality show with wife Nicola in a joint interview with Variety.

The star said he would "literally die" for cooking, while dismissing his previous photography career – which saw him release panned 2017 book, What I See – as a "hobby."

He continued: "I really enjoyed [photography] for a couple of years. I love taking pictures of my wife. I still have all my film cameras, but now it's just more of a fun thing to do. They were kind of all hobbies. I was still trying to find that one thing I would literally die for, and I found that with cooking."
