CCR Share ‘Proud Mary’ From Royal Albert Hall Album

Creedence Clearwater Revival recently shared “Proud Mary,” one of the band’s most popular anthems, from their performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

“Proud Mary” earned CCR their first U.S. Top 10 hit and spent three weeks at No. 2. The song, which was certified platinum, inspired several cover versions including from Solomon Burke, Jr. Walker and the All Stars, and Bobby Goldsboro that year.

Ike and Tina Turner covered the song in 1971. In 2020, Margo Price covered the track on her live album Perfectly Imperfect at the Ryman.

The band previously shared “Fortunate Son” and “Bad Moon Rising” from their historic two-night engagement at the famous London venue in 1970.

CCR’s performance at the Royal Albert Hall is now on a live concert album as well as in the film Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall, directed by Bob Smeaton.
The film, narrated by Jeff Bridges, premieres on September 16.
