Former Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has said that she has been the victim of an "abusive relationship" as she shared an emotional post on Instagram.
The 39 year old media personality shared an image to the social media app in which she wore no makeup and appeared distressed, as she said that she had been "really nervous to post this".
The mother of one said: "For so long I felt alone and isolated and I felt like no one knew what I was going through or how I was feeling," before saying that posting and letting the world know about it was "healing".
Chantelle – who famously entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2006 as the only non-celebrity – went into detail on the lengthy post.
She wrote: "By being brave and bearing my soul I really hope I can pass that comfort on to others out there and sharing my story will also help myself on my healing journey.
"The girl in the picture is me, I have been a victim of NARCISSISTIC ABUSE and COERCIVE CONTROL. It is part of MY history and I want to help others start their journey of healing and recognise symptoms."
She continued: "Narcissistic abuse and coercive control is soul destroying, lonely, invasive, intrusive, feeling hyper vigilant, traumatic, destroys your sense of self worth, you no longer feel like the person you were, overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, confused, afraid, numb, nightmares, frightened, debilitating, dehumanising, degrading, anxiety….the list is ENDLESS. You are at the hands of your abuser."
She finished her post by telling her followers that she had come out of the other side, and said: "I am not a VICTIM……I am a SURVIVOR."
It's not clear to whom Chantelle was referring to as the perpetrator of the alleged "abusive relationship".
Her fellow TV stars rushed to the comments section to show their support, as former TOWIE star Gemma Collins wrote: "Welcome to come to mine anytime xx"
Fellow former Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes commented: "This is so brave of you Chan. Sending you all the love xx."
Ex-TOWIE personality Lauren Goodger who herself has endured a traumatic year, wrote: ""I feel you and get it hope your OK ."
Chantelle won the hearts of the nation when she starred on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, when she had to convince the other celebrities that she was a famous singer.
She went on to form a romance with fellow contestant Ordinary Boys singer Preston, who she went on to marry before they divorced after a year.
She shares a seven year old daughter, Dolly, with her ex, Alex Reid, who was famously married to former glamour model Katie Price between 2010 and 2012.
