The ‘Mulan’ voice star opened up about her positive attitude in getting through an ‘incredibly difficult year’ in a reflective year end post, months before she died after a lengthy battle with depression.
AceShowbiz –Coco Lee laid bare her “unbearable” life in her haunting last Instagram post, months before she tragically passed away after suicide attempt. The Hong Kong-born singer, who reached global fame with her single “Do You Want My Love”, opened up about having an “incredibly difficult year” as she reflected on 2022 in her year end post.
Despite the hardship, the 48-year-old said that she kept positive attitude by adopting the “female warrior” attitude. She included a carousel of snaps that included pictures of her “love” and “faith” tattoos, a photo showing her sporting a surgical drain and another that showed her weighing just 93.25 lbs. on a scale.
“LOVE & FAITH ~my 2 favorite words that I carry strongly in my heart which I desperately needed to get thru this incredibly difficult year,” she wrote in the caption. “Life seemed unbearable at times but I adapted the attitude of a ‘female warrior’ to face them head on fearlessly but always had the biggest smile and big fat laughters!”
“Strength, courage, n bravery is within all of us so use them,” she penned, seemingly to remind herself more than encouraging others. “U will gain most precious ‘Wisdom’ which will change ur perspective on life from here onward. Be a hungry mind that constantly wanna learn n grow and to gain a treasure chest of wisdom.”
Expecting a better year, she shared, “My goal in 2023 is to share my life story n how i faced major life changing hurdles n still manage to keep a positive attitude. I am happy to say I am finally living the real me. It’s the best feeling n I’m grateful everyday to be alive n I get to share my thoughts with u.”
She ended the lengthy caption by declaring, “I’m a female warrior baby! Just like The Great Wall of China I will never fall. If I can overcome anything, so can u! You are not alone, no matter how hard life gets, I’m with u. #newyear #newbeginnings #bestrong #beyourself #loveyourself.”
In the comments section of the post, her friends and fans have paid tribute to the late star. Fellow Hong Kong-born musician Jay Fung wrote, “I will always remember you as a passionate, charismatic, and loving individual. Thank you for always being nice to me, and giving me lots of encouragement. Im thankful we got to work together on a song, it will always have a special place in my heart. Rest peacefully Coco!”
