Chris Martin made a surprise appearance at a local pub on Sunday despite his ‘hangover’ after playing at Glastonbury.

The lead singer and pianist of Coldplay, 45, showed off his talents as he played Sky Full of Stars, from the 2014 album Ghost Stories, at the The Stag Inn, Hinton Charterhouse, Bath.

Chris enjoyed a pint at the pub with his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, after playing the piano and singing for the small crowd.

The pub’s landlord, Chris Parkin, described the incident as ‘surreal’ and said: ‘I’ve seen a few things in my time but nothing quite like that’.

The 47-year-old landlord, who has been running The Stag Inn for nearly 30 years, was nearly knocked off his seat when the singer walked in.

‘You never know who might pop in for a pint! What a lovely man he is,’ the owner wrote on his post.

Chris and Dakota have been together since 2017 and have tried to keep their relationship out of the headlines.

The Yellow singer, who shares children Apple, 18 and Moses, 16, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, has been touring with his band.

Chris recently sold the mansion he once shared with Gwyneth for a staggering £7 million profit, The Mail on Sunday revealed.

The vast 33-room home in the Primrose Hill area of North London is made up of two properties knocked into one.

The couple bought the first for £2.5 million from Kate Winslet and her then husband Sam Mendes in May 2004. They then snapped up the neighbouring home for £3 million in 2009, before doing extensive building works.

Now the combined home, boasting eight bathrooms and a gym, has been sold to an Asian businessman for £12.5 million.

The property was Martin and Paltrow’s marital home until they announced their ‘consciously uncoupling’ split in 2014.

Despite moving to California, where he now lives with Fifty Shades Of Grey actress Dakota, Martin held on to the property.

A source said: ‘Chris got the house in the divorce but kept hold of it even though he lives in Malibu now. It may have been a connection to the UK for him, as his life is very American, but he certainly managed to make a decent profit on it.’
