Coleen Rooney out-earns Wayne as she signs Disney+ deal for Wagatha story

Coleen Rooney is set to "out-earn" husband Wayne Rooney as she's reportedly signed a multi-million pound deal with Disney+ for a tell-all Wagatha Christie documentary.

According to The Sun, 36 year old Coleen was at the centre of a bidding war between Disney+, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Discovery, all vying for the rights to the documentary.

The production, which will follow the gripping and very public tale of Coleen's falling out and subsequent court trial with Rebekah Vardy, 40, who Coleen accused of leaking stories about her to the press, will be made by Lorton Entertainment, which also produced Wayne's documentary, Rooney.

Coleen won the highly-publicised libel battle against Rebekah last month, however, both women racked up around £1.5million in legal fees, and a September 21 hearing will determine who will pay what.

Wayne manages soccer team DC United in Washington and he earns a reported £800,000 a year in the role.

A source told The Sun of reported deal with Disney+: "This is a massive deal for Coleen — in every sense. For the first time in 20 years, she will be the main breadwinner.

"She is also getting across her own side of the story in terms of Wagatha Christie. Since her first damning social media post outing Rebekah, she has remained steadfastly silent.

"Now the public will see first hand the toll this whole case took on her, and her family — and why she took the action she took."

The insider added that cameras will have "unfiltered access" to Coleen's home and they will get to know what has gone on behind closed doors since she made her famous 2019 tweet, which had the now infamous line "…it's Rebekah Vardy's account".

OK! has contacted Coleen Rooney's representatives for comment.

Coleen's October 2019 tweet in which she accused Rebekah of leaking stories read: "For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing [a national newspaper] of my private posts and stories.

"There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family – all without my permission or knowledge.

"After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.

"To try and prove this, I came up with an idea. I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account. (Those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven't had stories on there for a while.)

"Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into [the newspaper].

"And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding in my new house.

"It's been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have ben leaked, however I had to.

"Now I know for certain which account / individual it's come from.

"I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It's……….Rebekah Vardy's account."

Rebekah then sued her former friend for libel, but she lost the case as the judge concluded on July 29: "I have found that Ms Vardy was party to the disclosure to The Sun…

"Ms Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Ms Rooney's posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt."
