Coleen Rooney shares sweet family snaps

Coleen Rooney ‘signs multimillion-pound deal with Disney+ for rights to tell-all Wagatha Christie documentary – as she’s set to earn more than husband Wayne with move’

Coleen Rooney has signed a multimillion-pound deal with Disney+ for the rights to a tell-all Wagatha Christie documentary, it has been reported.

It has been claimed the WAG, 36, is set to earn more than her former England footballer husband Wayne, also 36, after reportedly inking the deal following a bidding war with other streaming giants Amazon Prime, Netflix and Discovery.

The Sun reports that the programme – which will follow the story of her bitter libel court battle with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, 40 – will be made by Lorton Entertainment, which released Wayne’s documentary this year.

The latest: Coleen Rooney has signed a multimillion-pound deal with Disney+ for the rights to a tell-all Wagatha Christie documentary, it has been reported

Coleen won their Wagatha Christie libel battle victory last month – leaving Rebekah with a multi-million pound sum to pay her.

Wayne – who manages soccer team DC United in Washington – earns a reported £800,000 a year in the role.

A source told The Sun of reported deal with Disney+: ‘This is a massive deal for Coleen — in every sense. For the first time in 20 years, she will be the main breadwinner.

‘She is also getting across her own side of the story in terms of Wagatha Christie. Since her first damning social media post outing Rebekah, she has remained steadfastly silent.

Claims: The publication reports that the programme will follow the story of her bitter libel court battle with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, 40, (pictured together in 2016)

‘Now the public will see first hand the toll this whole case took on her, and her family — and why she took the action she took.’

The insider added that cameras will have ‘unfiltered access to her home’ and get to see inside her world after her infamous ‘…it’s Rebekah Vardy’s account’ post.

A representative for Coleen has been contacted by MailOnline for a comment.

Coleen and Rebekah are set for one last dramatic High Court showdown over who will foot the multi-million-pound bill for their costly ‘Wagatha Christie’ libel battle.

Drama: Coleen won their Wagatha Christie libel battle victory last month – leaving Rebekah with a multi-million pound sum to pay her

Sources close to Coleen – who won the case last month – told The Mail on Sunday she will fight to make sure Rebekah pays the full amount, estimated to be up to £3million.

Usually a winning party will still have to pay about 30 per cent of the costs.

But Coleen’s team claim the judge’s damning judgment that Becky did sell stories about her to The Sun newspaper means it is ‘inconceivable’ that she won’t be made to pay the full amount.

Mrs Justice Steyn ruled last month that Becky and her agent Caroline Watt had leaked stories about Coleen, wife of ex-England skipper Wayne.

Tough: Rebekah sued her former friend for libel over a now-famous social media post in which Coleen described setting up a ‘sting operation’ by posting fake stories to selected followers on her private Instagram account to uncover who was leaking stories about her to The Sun (pictured together at Euro 2016)

Rebekah sued her former friend for libel over a now-famous social media post in which Coleen described setting up a ‘sting operation’ by posting fake stories to selected followers on her private Instagram account to uncover who was leaking stories about her to The Sun.

The ‘big reveal’ post in October 2019 ended: ‘It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account.’

After Rebekah brought legal action, Coleen offered her a ‘drop hands’ offer, which meant they would both walk away, paying their own costs. She also suggested they make a charity donation.

But Rebekah declined, leading to a costly High Court trial. Now, after her victory, Coleen wants her rival to pay up.

A source close to Coleen said: ‘Coleen didn’t want this to happen. She knew the money would be better spent on so many other things but she won’t be letting Rebekah get away with not paying the full costs.

‘She tried to settle this early on but Rebekah wouldn’t have it. And if you look at the outlining of the judgment, it is inconceivable that a judge wouldn’t agree she will pay them in full. Let’s not forget, this action was brought by Rebekah and she lost spectacularly.’

During a preliminary hearing in March last year, the costs were estimated at £1.3million.

Continued support: The Sun claims that the tell-all show will be made by Lorton Entertainment, which released Wayne’s documentary this year (pictured)

Now, after the case’s two-week High Court hearing, reports have claimed the total could be £3million.

Rebekah’s barrister, Hugh Tomlinson QC, reportedly charges £10,000 a day, while his opposite number, David Sherborne, charges about £8,000.

There is speculation that Rebekah and her husband, Leicester City striker Jamie, may have to sell their Portuguese villa to pay the legal bill.

Coleen jetted off to New York and Washington DC last week with her four sons to visit husband Wayne – who manages Washington DC United’s soccer club.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Coleen shared a gallery of snaps with her former footballer husband, 36, and their sons, Kai, 12, Klay, nine, Kit and Cass.

Ex-England player Wayne touched down in Washington DC last month to manage the team leaving his family at home in the UK.

However, Wayne’s team lost 6-0 to the Philadelphia Union on Saturday with him branding the game an ‘unacceptable, embarrassing’ display.

The loss marks the fifth straight defeat for United, and seventh loss in the last eight games.

The couple seemed in high spirits as they beamed for a group selfie with their boys in front of the Statue Of Liberty.

Coleen looked stunning in a ruffled white playsuit while her beau donned a grey shirt and matching shorts with a white baseball cap.

Their children nestled in beside them for the smiling snap in front of the famous landmark.

Later the family visited tourist hot spot Times Square as they beamed for snaps together.

Heading to Washington, the Rooneys visited The White House with the boys all wearing football kits while Wayne opted for a black quarter zip jumper and shorts.

The former Manchester United ace hid behind a pair of dark sunglasses and under a bright blue cap.

Meanwhile Coleen looked effortlessly chic in a white and blue patterned playsuit which she teamed with a pink Chanel crossbody bag.

Sporty: The boys wore their football kits as usual as they posed for cute family snaps together at the fun museum

During the visit, Wayne took his brood to Audi Field where his new team are based.

The clan were seen making themselves comfortable in the stands of the empty stadium as they wore the Washington football kit.

Coleen looked every inch the doting mum as she posed alongside Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass in an off the shoulder white spotted playsuit.

She penned to the snaps: ‘Quick visit to New York & Washington #FamilyTime❤️’.

The trip follows after Coleen gave her husband her full blessing to live in the US to manage the East coast football side while she stayed in the UK with their sons.

Even though she’s previously admitted to not enjoying life out there, Coleen is making the effort to spend as much time as she can supporting Wayne’s new adventure.

Coleen’s dislike of the US capital emerged in leaked text messages from 2018 sent to Rebekah Vardy during the Wagatha Christie libel trial.

In response to Vardy asking how things were going, the Liverpudlian replied: ‘Hiya, hope your all week [well]. We’re ok thanks its tough being on your own though.

Coleen went on to say: ‘Washington isn’t the best….nice to visit but different to live. Not loads for the kids to do, mostly park, hardly any soft plays and things like that.

‘It’s quite behind the UK, which I never would have thought. But we will get used to it (I hope). Wayne is loving it, and the kids are fine, settled into school straight away. So really happy they are fine. Thanks for the message love xx.’

In a separate message, she admitted that she ‘never believed in homesickness’ until leaving the UK, adding that she ‘cried every night’ due to missing her family back home.

However it was revealed that Wayne has reportedly included a special ‘Coleen release clause’ in his new $1million contract.

The footballer, who jetted off to America to sign the contract, has persuaded bosses to let him go back home if a Premier League job arises – in order to be back with his family.

A source told The Mirror: ‘Wayne planned summer with the family after leaving Derby County. He didn’t expect to be offered a job so soon.

‘His contract lets him speak to Premier League clubs if there’s a job going. I think he’ll only return if it’s a big club, but being home with Coleen and the boys would be a big factor for him.’
